Weekly Reading - 11/7-11/13/21

What to Expect: Before diving into the cards, it may be worth looking to the stars that indicate there may be difficult conversations or thought patterns ahead, especially at the start of the week. Mercury, which is about communication, diplomacy and rationality, is moving into some difficult relationships with Saturn and Mars. While this can be a good time to work out ideas and focus on analytical thinking, there’s a likelihood of either other people challenging your ideas or misrepresenting themselves with bad advice or bad contracts, and/or your words misrepresenting your feelings or ideas. It’s a good time to play defense, remember not to get frustrated, and be careful about what you say.

That being said, the tarot cards suggest we have the tools we need to succeed this week. In the opening position, the Queen of Coins suggests we’ll be able to find the ultimate balance between taking care of our practical needs and our spiritual or emotional ones. The card suggests this week will bring much to celebrate in terms of practical matters, maturity, confidence, and money management. The Queen of Coins is the ultimate working parent, able to be nurture and also provide with material needs. The card captures much of the energy of the Sun trine with Neptune towards the later part of this week, where we will start to feel so confident and well-balanced that we will have greater empathy and desire to help those around us in our family or friend networks.

While the start of the week (astrologically) suggests there might be a bit of tension around communication in the home and work areas of life, try to keep the Queen’s aura in mind (you’ve got this!) and take care to balance your emotional stress/home-work life balance; by the time Mercury opposes Uranus on Saturday, there will be plenty of time for you to let your mind wander and stop being so practical. Uranus is going to stimulate your dreams, schemes, and imagination, so much so that you may actually find yourself a little off balance with an overactive mind challenging your ability to balance both the day-to-day and your daydreams. Keep in mind the energy of the Queen when you get lost, remembering both practicality and emotional/spiritual balance are in your realm.

What to Embrace: Another card of good fortune that will help us navigate the early disruptions of the week is the Nine of Cups. Things might get difficult, but we should be embracing the blessings that we do have for the time we have them.  Look for what wishes you’ve made that have come true, and how you can celebrate those. Cups are all about emotions, so this should be an opportunity to let in positive feelings. This card challenges us to show ourselves some love too, so as they say on Parks and Rec, “treat yo’ self” to some luxuries this week that will help you feel better and comforted. This doesn’t just mean a spending spree. Treating yourself can also mean making time for yourself -- taking a special bath, going for a walk to a place you enjoy, taking in a movie, reading a book. Enjoy the moments you can feel like a Queen, because they can be fleeting!

What to Bring: While we’re celebrating and embracing moments to treat ourselves, the Two of Wands reversed indicates a need to remind ourselves of what we really want and a need to reconnect to our vision, because it may not be a smooth road this week. The Two of Wands reversed suggests that we might be at the start of a passion project and we’re starting to hit some bumps in terms of failed negotiations, a lack of planning, or a fear of the unknown. This is probably also stemming from the positions of Mercury and Mars early in the week that may bring about complications in communication (either yours to others, or the way others have miscommunicated/misled you with their words). This can also be from the quarter moon phase starting on Thursday, which may bring discord or obstacles with a new venture. All of this may bring out a feeling of frustration, a lack of enthusiasm for your project, or doubts. The Two of Wands reversed indicates a need to return back to what you really want and to make some adjustments. Try to bring with you a sense of with what made you feel passionate about the project in the first place. If you’ve been working haphazardly, bring a clear plan or to do list. Perhaps in your ‘treat yo’ self’ activity, you can do some thinking or purchase something to help remind you of this passion and why you’ve started this project; ultimately that may help feed into the Queen’s energy of abundance and success.

What to Leave Behind: Given all the communication issues early in the week and the quarter moon on Thursday, there’s a good chance it’s time to let go of a relationship or duality that’s not serving you any longer. The Lovers reversed can be viewed as a need to leave behind an opponent or partner that’s getting in your way. Is there someone who is no longer in support of your values or goals? To what extent are the people around you supporting your ambitions, passions, and values?  Or is there some past decision or person you need to heal from in order to move forward? Another interpretation could mean a duality within yourself or your own psyche that you need to confront and move past. The card is associated with Gemini, and so do you have a mental evil twin that’s standing in your own way? Are you punishing yourself for a past action or decision, or letting that sow doubts? Or is your evil emotional twin fueling your anger that results in words that you don’t mean and miscommunications?  Perhaps this week is a good time to revisit and let go of a relationship – with another person or within your own psyche – in order to restore your belief in your passion project, find a moment of happiness and celebration, and harness all the power of your domain?

·      Things to Do: Think and communicate cautiously at the start of the week – if you’ve been working without a plan, try to be less haphazard; if you’ve started a new project, try not to get frustrated and return/revisit your vision board to spark your passion. Midweek is time to shift gears to find some happiness and embrace your ability to balance work and life. Treat yo’ self to a walk, a nice meal, a movie, a gift, a book. By Saturday, you can let your mind wander a bit more freely – try journaling or free writing if your mind starts to get too hectic.

·      Meditation ideas: Reignite your passion – try focusing on your base chakra that will help to root and ground you during a bumpy week or your sacral chakra that recognizes your creativity and spark.  Celebrate what you have – try a loving-kindness meditation that recognizes your love for self and radiates that out to the world. Communication: focus on your throat chakra, using blue crystals (blue fluorite, blue lace agate, aquamarine, sodalite) to open your ability to communicate better or overcome shyness.

·      Crystals: To improve communication: blue fluorite, blue lace agate, sodalite; To embrace self-care and self-celebration: rose quartz, pink tourmaline, morganite.
